I got a message one evening from my best girl friend ever, inviting me to her wedding.
ohhhpps! It was more than a good song singing in my ears and I couldn’t believe my eyes as I was reading neither could I hide the joy and excitement.
Bey as I affectionately call her is a friend I met during my University days at Legon. As a fresh student straight from secondary school I knew no one except some of my mates who also made to Legon at that time.
It was a big world for just a little girl like me to fit in but luckily enough, Bey came my way and from then began our friendship. We were in the same room, my sleeping mate and with likes of Anty Doris, Difie, Matilda and the inner room lady, our room was fun to stay.
Best part is, we also had at least one course in common i.e Sociology. She was smart and was always making good grades so it was cool for me since I was also one hell of a studious girl.
We had a lot of fun memories, no hall beach party came without us attending especially the most popular and the most attended hall beach party during our stay on campus (Legon Hall Beach Party). As a good friend, she always guided me along the beach, she was one year a senior of mine but that never prevailed. She never differentiate. She taught me so many simple lessens in life with regard to humility and been disciplined.
unfortunately, I had to move to a different hostel in my third but nonetheless, she came to visit even though she was on main campus. What I loved and admired about her so much was how she cared for her family and friends, her Mother, Ofori her little brother and Pamilar her little sister. JB her cousin too was around and so many cute and cool peeps of hers. The likes of Seth, Faustina, Mercy,.. and so many other nice and cute people.
Why am I dedicating this for her? To me, she’s the best person in the world. Being at Legon is no joke especially since if you live in a different region outside Accra. I didn’t know Accra much and even though she was also coming from Tema Sakumono, she made me her responsibility.
On the occasion of her wedding, I had a dream of presenting to her my gift an this is it. To celebrate her. I was not in attendance but I was with her in spirit. Hola.. Bey, as you’re been blessed by God with a new role as a wife, I pray he guides your steps and bless you with all what you will need. I wish you more than well, I envy you because as you know, it was a fantasy of mine to marry soldier boy but I didn’t, you beat me to it. We’re both happily married now and that’s all what we should be grateful for.
