A Plus wife Akosua Vee, born, Violet Bannerman Quaye, is a well-known celebrity and personal stylist and fashion blogger. Recently news of she bleaching started trending on Social-media when her husband supposedly made a post teasing Becca of bleaching.
His post did not go down well with a social media user who believed he (A Plus) should have removed the speck from his eye first before considering that of another.
Plus post with Becca’s image was captioned “who is this Fake European Lady with original African Armpit”.
The Instagram user with the name “when it is coming it is doing” replied with a before and after photo of his wife said “And this is a post made by the guy whose wife bleach saaa she even borrows bleaching creams from cosmetic stores.smh b3ma di wo lane mu wai and advice your wife first. Ky3s3 wo yere akwadre bleaching mu 3nti wo kaas3 y3nhu.smh”.
Nowadays we find it very easy to chide people over their skin color. The bully will never stop but is it just Akosua Vee who is been accused of bleaching. Celebrities like Beyonce, Tonto Dike, Blac Chyna, Yvonne Nelson ,Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, etc have all been accused of bleaching.
However I like how A-Plus’s wife showed maturity when she was been cyber bullied. She did not let it get to her so much even though her hubby was all worked up trying to defend the wife on Facebook.
The campaign to let people stop bleaching can be done in a nice way. Its really depressing when you have to live your life to please others. We are quick to chide others for bleaching.
How can we as a people do that when the society we live in is so junk that dark skin colored ladies are not even given major roles in acting.? Fine we have the likes of Yvonne Okoro, Ebony etc who are dark skinned and are still doing well in the industry but how many are they? Its a cruel world out there when you’re not from a rich home but want to be famous.
Who has ever been named dead because they bleached their skin? Don’t tell me Michael Jackson because he didn’t die from bleaching.
Becca might have toned her skin just ”a little” and A-Plus’s wife too might have done so ”a little too much” thus only if it’s true that she was naturally a dark skinned person. That not withstanding people need to really chill and let the ladies be. Bleached or no bleached we should learn to love and appreciate each other. As Akosuah Vee said, opinions are like noses, choose what you want to believe.
